These GP60s have been further detailed with wipers and MU hoses.  All three received a gouache wash, an application of MIG soot colored pigment followed by dust colored chalk and finally a Dullcote seal application.  A prototype photo of a really grungy GP60M served as the basis for 103 while the others were mainly soot on the roof and dust on the underframe and car body.  A black wash gave detail to the trucks of all three.

Even though they are old Athearn BB units, the SD40-2s still run smoothly. Not as smooth as the new RTR versions, or the Kato, but smooth still the same.
